CALENDAR OF EVENTS
UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS, SCHOOL OF LAW
RSN Director Patricia Jurewicz will be speaking at the Confronting Child Labor in the Global Agricultural Supply Chains conference. This conference will identify contemporary practices to confront the worst forms of child labor in agriculture from bolstering community education, to combating poverty and implementing practical and sustainable monitoring systems. Seeking to correct the dearth of legal and policy scholarship on this major international human rights issue, this symposium will bring together an interdisciplinary group of global experts—from academia, governments, NGOs, inter-governmental organizations and businesses—to identify current challenges and chart a more innovative path forward in the global undertaking to eliminate the worst forms of child labor in agriculture.
PAST EVENTS 2013:
Supply Chain Summit
Whether it be supply chain security, product health and safety, labor compliance, environmental policies, or CSR mandates such as the Lacey Act and the conflict minerals law, retailers are challenged on many fronts to obtain an unprecedented degree of information about their supply chains going back in some cases to the raw materials in products they sell. Hear retail executives in CSR compliance, government relations, and supply chain management provide their perspectives on the challenges that enhanced supply chain traceability requirements pose for their companies and various ways retailers are addressing them.
