The Government of the People’s Republic of China has detained over one million Uyghur and Turkic minorities located in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and has forced many of them to work in cotton fields, spinning mills, and textile factories. The End Uyghur Forced Labour Coalition has issued a Call to Action for the apparel industry to stop sourcing from the region supported by over 200 human rights organizations from around the world. This is a webinar that focused on the realities of this human rights catastrophe, expectations for apparel companies, and how RSN’s initiative YESS: Yarn Ethically & Sustainably Sourced can be a solution for the industry.
